You’re Up.

You’re up

It’s your turn to bat.

You see the ball being thrown,

And you brace yourself.

You anticipate the speed,

And you see the direction.

But life’s not fair.

It throws you a curveball.

Tests your reflexes,

Your presence of mind,

And your skill.

Odds are, you’ll probably strike out.

That’s okay.

Life’s like that.

We don’t always score a home run.

But when life does knock you down,

Roll over,

And look at the stars.
